Cold Tolerance Project AIMS
The scope of this project is to enhance corn's cold tolerance for US Midwest; modeling yield and environmental impact & discovering cold tolerance alleles in maize relatives.
Our AIMS
1. Develop decision-support system for agro-technology transfer (DSSAT) maize models to stimulate adaptive traits for cold tolerance.
2. Impact assessment of cold tolerance traits to improve maize productivity in current and future climates.
3. Identify novel genetic variation for germination viability and growth in cold temperatures.
4. Understand mechanisms for viability and growth in cold temperatures.
