Evan Rees

Graduate Student

Research Interests:

I am a graduate student in the Field of Plant Breeding at Cornell University. My current research focuses on mapping freezing tolerance QTL in  Tripsacum, the sister-genus of Zea, with the goal of developing cold-hardy maize varieties. I am also working on de novo assembly of Andropogoneae genomes using long-read sequencing technologies, as a means of harnessing genetic diversity across the warm-season grasses.
