Phylogeographer 1.0 is a program that allows phylogeographic hypotheses to be tested. The current version allows the hypotheses to be converted into distance matrices, so that correlations can be calculated between various phylogeographic hypotheses and genetic distance matrices. Various dispersal routes can be explored with a graphical interface, and these can be compared with clinal hypotheses.

The software, written in Java 1.2.1 should run on any platform (Windows, Mac, or UNIX). However, there are still some bugs in this software (notice- its free!), so I would appreciate users sending a polite email to me at Ed Buckler email address if they encounter any problems. This program could also benefit from collaborators interested in adding additional approaches to analyzing geographic data.
